Another continent to which Mezalim research is dedicated is Asia, where the focus is on historical and current quantitative and qualitative research into anti-Muslim racism in the respective countries. Just over 60 percent of the world’s Muslim population now lives in Asia. In some countries, such as Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, etc., Muslims make up the majority of the population. In some countries in southern and eastern Asia in particular, they are subjected to persecution, massacres and discrimination. The situation of the Rohingya in Myanmar, but also the situation of Muslims in India or the Philippines, is exemplary for the state-organized persecution and execution of violent excesses against Muslims.
